The perfect color

It is so hard to explain this color... greige.  It just makes me feel so relaxed and so wonderful...  If only I could recreate this - not to much purple, not too much brown, not too much grey..  just the right amount of everything would be perfect and it would be perfect in every light.  Oh and don't forget that tiny bit of texture too....

I've had this color in my living room, foyer and hallways for 7 years and have put off painting over it because we like it so much. It took months and many quarts of paint before we realized that this elusive grey had to be custom mixed. It turned out to be very expensive to arrive at what we were envisioning but worth it in the end.

I wish they could tell us the color they used.

Of course, it would change in our own space and we'd still need to find just the right greige!

We have this colour in our Living room and in all the hallways. It never tires you and makes you feel warm and comfortable. Depending on the incoming light it is sometimes more greyish and sometimes more brownish.

I have seen it described as "putty" .. whatever you call it, it is beautiful. Or it is in those rooms !

Great color... and I love the unevenness of the color... is that from the texture or a mix of shades...? ~Terri

There are actually a few ways to achieve the texture.
Could be as simple as paint with added fine sand or it could be RL's Suede paint or one of the professional texture products tinted to a specific shade. Now to find out that color!

wonderful! just the right gray/greige that pairs beautifully with terra cotta and wood tones - as in the first image. looks a lot like SW Amazing Gray.

I concur, it's beautiful. I love the color and its simplicity, not too dark and not too light as well. Thank you for the inspiration.
