I am love loving this kitchen...I have been dreaming of redoing my kitchen for over 2 years now. Just recently (my latest imaginary version) I have decided that I should have black counter tops, a back splash with marble subway tiles and the island should be done with marble and a dark cabinet... What do you think?? I also love that this space has some modern twists...The pendants are amazing.

Sounds like the kitchen I want .. but mine is only 3 years old and all custom made so I think I will have to keep the cherry cabinets. But the black granite is the best, I have never once had a problem with it .. I do like the subway tiles .. I have mine behind the stove & counter laid in a diamond pattern. That is nice too ..
We spend so much time in our kitchens, they should be just perfect :)

For what it's worth, in my last three homes, I've had dark and white countertops...hands down white is the better. Easier to maintain than dark...I've had granite and quartz.

I've said this before, but I wonder...This is my favorite style of kitchen, but I have had many over the years. Will there be a time when people say this look is so 2010. I think its timeless.
This is lovely, but the white cabinets make me cringe. I have them in my house now and they're so difficult to keep clean. I miss the dark cherry cabinets in our old home that I didn't have to scrub at least once a day.
I adore this kitchen - we almost went with black granite and marble, but instead opted for all marble as I love love love it. The light fixtures are fabulous! Thanks for sharing,
