Yeah it's a tad bit heavy. I wish the sides were a little more bulky. It would make it seem less top heavy, but I'm sure it is an antique. It sure is pretty though.
the house makes me weak at the knees---but that fireplace is just ten kinds of wrong---appears to be an architectural arch, salvaged, and turned upside down...too heavy, too awkward...
But, LOL, I'd put up with it for that house...otherwise perfect.

Beautiful hearth and I agree with you, a little heavy. That wire basket isn't going to last long with the wood in it either.
It's definitely a statement piece that stands alone. But the overall effect with the accessories, art and studded screen is lovely.
