I fell in love with this room in the first picture. Then I found the other photos. I am not sure I love it as much in the second and third picture. Why is that? How do the photographers do that? Just cut out the extra things and make it more quaint and warm? How about you - Do you like it?

I LOVE it! That is my IDEAL home - seriously, I am making my way there, one frame, desk and leather armchair at a time... Thank you for the inspiration and reassurance that I am, indeed, on the right track.
Loving the wall collage!! xo
I think the top photo with the white ceiling juxtaposed against the dark floor looks so striking. There is a vintage vibe, yet a timelessness about this space. It has a "working" atmosphere - where one might get a lot done!

What a great question!!! It just goes to show everyone's different taste because I love the third picture and not too particular about the 1s and 2nd. But I am a sucker for any anitque typed bureau or chest of drawers...it is my weakness!!!
I love the third photo best. I like the arrangment and different frames of the pictures....but the first photo is pretty cool too!
I love that there's not a single thing in any of these photos that looks as if it weren't collected over time. I also love seeing so many great views of it. Magazine pages can some times be so limiting as to what they can show in a single house.
yep -- i like it.
but i don't like the dried flowers. in fact, i hate the dried flowers!
We have considered getting a leather chair like the one in this room.. it sure looks good!
Beautiful room. I especially love the last photo!
Have a nice day.

I think the room is fabulous, for my husband, it's a very masculine looking room but very well done.
Love it...it is such a cozy room...it beckons you to come in and stay for a while!

I agree with you - that first photo grabbed me, and I was instantly in love. The second and third, not so much. The second photo, in particular, bothers me - I think the bright red chair, in the doorway, belonging to neither room fully, is particularly jarring.
Yes - the first picture looks so cosy and contained which adds to the sense of intimacy and warmth. When you realise that it's actually just a corner of a much larger room, it loses its romance somwhat, but over all I still love the feel. Very masculine, like somewhere that Ernest Hemingway would have written a novel! x
Love all three. I fabricate the black industrial light fixtures and love to see how they are used in different environments. I do mine with wire as shown or with rope. Great images all the way around.
Interior design is an art.
Photography is an art.
Looking at art thru art.
But it's more than that. Are we looking at art thru art via the art of a blog, via the art of a magazine, via art of tv & etc.

I love how rustic and antique it looks but, I agree, sometimes the view of a picture changes my whole feeling towards a room!

Very Nice Room. I actually like the 2nd pic the best because of the red chair and pulled back composition. It's amazing how a photograph can change a space so much....and then if you happen to see it in person it is completely different again!
i love 'masculine industrial rustica' and like you like the first pic best - think it may be my aversion to red...in the second pic the red chair ruins it for me and the third, i quite like but again glimpses of red (under the specimen jar). i always feel that red introduced into a restrained color palette indicates insecurity in some way - weird, i know.
Absolutely incredible!
This is the home of Lyn Gardner, and incredible stylist, who has the vintage, industrial look down pat. You can check out her website for more pictures at www.thewhitehousedaylesford.com.au
Beautiful rooms and great inspirations!
Have a nice day,
Hugs, Yvonne
Love at first sight 1st photo, and was disappointed at the second photo because you see the next room, which is bright and jolts you out of the intimacy of the vintage setting. Who designed this room?
I think the picture arrangements above sideboard are terrific. The clutter on the table annoys me and looks shoppy. I need to sit down in that space and do something. Thanks for asking.
Come Visit,
Liz
Yes I do. I love it all!
