Shopping in Paris: Merci

Their natural linen bedding was amazing!

I fell in love with those lights, if they were wired for the US I would have bought a few to clip over artwork.

This is a display of a table and chairs hanging on the wall by the stairs, I love that bag!

Baby Tolix chairs

Cafe in the basement level.

While in Paris we visited Merci.  This was the first time that I have been to the store and it was so fun!

It was 3 floors of great housewares, furniture, clothing, jewelry, stationary, bedding and accessories.  They had an Urban Picnic theme going on which was very cool, with all types of reusable flatware, dishes etc.  I did not have time to visit the little library/cafe area though sadly, it looked so cool (you can see it in this last picture that I took while we were outside).

I will be back for sure and start earlier because I love stores like this one with unique pieces and beautiful displays!  If you are moving to Paris and want some goodies to fill up your place I think this would be a great place to start- the basement level has some super great pieces (like the tolix chairs- even kids chairs) and they are reasonable too!

I highly recommend it if you are visiting the city there is something for everyone!

Dear Christina,

LOVE LOVE LOVE the chairs in picture number 4! We will take them all. We could always use more potted boxwoods for the Veranda (what's another plant to water when they are so inviting). Hope you had a wonderful fourth of July!

Those lights with the metal cages are available from Jayson Home & Garden & there's a similar version from Anthropologie. I saw Tolix bar stools for sale at my local World Market, though they don't show up in their on-line catalog.

Thanks so much for the heads up! Your photos look like they should be in a magazine. I think even my husband will enjoy going here with me in a few weeks. [ And I can tell that you're still in Paris in your head!!! Me too!!]
