Dreams are such a fun thing. I have so many but there is one that keeps jumping out at me. I think it maybe more of a wish than a dream but I am truly not sure what the difference is any more.
I dream of having a wonderful place in France to spend time in with my family, when I say time I mean real time where we eat together outside, we cook together, take hikes and walks and learn about the surrounding areas. A home base to travel to new worlds together, just us, just for fun!
This beautiful home would be filled with my favorite of all favorites! Astier de Villatte dishes and furnishings mixed with amazing French finds from Brocantes and local artisans. Things would be striped down and natural just like the surroundings and the food. It would be amazing we would cook and read.
We would ride bikes around just so we could see everything and stop anywhere.
Eating outside as often as possible would be the norm..
My mind might even be free enough to have time to create some new classics based on old methods.
I would have the time and patience to learn how to draw and possibly paint.
A girl can dream right!
What about you what do you dream about?
Please take a minute to stop by and see everyone who participated today!!

What a lovely dream Christina and one that is possible to come true. Your 'By Invitation' post is beautiful. I feel very content with my life and have fulfilled many dreams but, that doesn't mean that I can't fulfill anymore.
I will look forward to your 'By Invitation' contribution next month. XXXX
Ahhh, Christina, you've said this with such simple, beautiful charm...exactly as you do everything. I can almost imagine myself there with you & your friends, sitting around one of those lovely al fresco tables, sharing a glass of local wine and wonderful stories of the day. Come over and link up with me, please...at the very bottom of my post. xx's
What a beautiful post! I have recently been reading 'Summers in France' and have been dreaming the same thing. I'm sure you'll get your dream - but you're probably already living it!
lol,
Desiree
Oh gosh! Those photos just make my heart flutter they are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing them AND your dreams.
I love your blog (i only read a handful of design blogs that speak to me) and your taste and your dreams too... I don't have a design blog-- yet. This is my "anonymous" life is outta control blog-- I had forgotten about my dreams... they got lost in the mire... but I'm fighting to get them back. Thank you for your beauty and for your inspiration. xo ~ L
PS: last night I actually like a D-A opened up a REAL (design) blog, and then realized that blogger AUTOMATICALLY LINKS all of ones blogs together (like it or not!-- couldn't they at least, ask?) and then I tried to unlink them, and only made it worse, so I had to delete the new blog with my NAME in it. Guess, God was trying to tell me, that I need to choose a different name!?!
Oh one last thing. One of my dreams has always been to have a really cool furniture line, bringing back those old styles, but at affordable prices. I love the thinner more graceful, stylish forms... and the scale is HUMAN!
Lovely, lovely Christina...xv
Here's hoping that this dream comes true!
Beautiful images and not an unrealistic dream at all!

Seems we are all dreaming of France. It's such a magical place. I'm in agreement...wishing and dreaming can be one in the same. Enjoyed your post. Mona
LOVE your dream...it would be mine too. But my dreams almost always end up including France, isnt' that funny how it has such power over so many of us?
It is perfection on so many levels in my book and I truly feel alive when I am there (not nearly often enough)!!
Enjoyed your post....
it's a wonderful dream. cycling everywhere - that's really the part that is missing for me in our english countryside, but i may solve it with a good bike rack and some patience. dreaming, wishing, expressing them is so important to their realisation. i'm dreaming of making, learning, all the time, spending lots of time with family just like you've pictured here. we're getting there. x
What a wonderful dream...me too!
