So I am curious... where do you find your design inspiration? I am hearing whispers that the blogs are taking a backseat to Pinterest ... What do you think?
You know I love me some Pinterest around here but really I find that photos that are arranged in a post with some text are equally inspiring and it is always nice to see some new photos that seem to come only from blogs and other sites.. and the interaction is so much fun!
Just checking - which way are you going?

I get my inspiration from where ever I am, am object, a resource library, a color, nature, a book, a photograph. I signed up for a pinterest account, have a few followers but ham yet to do a board...which I believe will never happens. I much prefer to read a blog, follow my favorite bloggers, see their inspirations. I feel that pinterest images can be a little repetitive. i also joined Houzz and spends quite a bit of time, reading, marking and loading my projects and furniture. I also am a member of 1st Dibs, Dering Hall., Interior Connector, Newly Wish, AD, Decorati now Gilt...plus having to update our rather large website, i am borderline over booked...pinterest will have to stay on the back burner!!!
hey you... i get a lot of inspiration by travelling, reading blogs and magazines and going to flea markets..
and sleeping... sometimes i dream something, wake up and have sooo much new inspiration :)
i love the interaction on blogs, so pinterest isnt that interesting to me..
:) wish you a nice week, svenja
My inspiration comes from a multitude of sources. Sometimes it's as simple as a pebble in my backyard. I like to stretch my imagination. I love the personal feel of a blog. I've met many kindred spirits since starting my blog. As much as I enjoy Pinterest, I can only spend so much time on it. The blog world feels more like family.
I have the same sentiments as the previous comments. Blogland is more personal. My design inspiration has always come from multiple sources so that doesn't change. It's just hard keeping up with Pinterest, FB, Tumblr, Houzz, and the like.
My computer has been my personal Pinterest board for years with files and folders arranged to my liking. I can access what I need fairly quickly - usually!
I prefer blogs over Pinterest for exactly the reasons you mentioned. I do have a Pinterest account but the romance died pretty quickly - too much work, too little reward. Their format and user options are limited and I prefer my computer system for saving inspiration. I cruise through periodically, checking for blogs/sources new to me and occasionally find something.
I agree that blogs are much more personal. Pinterest just frustratrates me. I've asked for an invite several times and they never respond -- now I understand you have to be invited by someone who has an account. I don't get that at all -- so I will stick with blogs --and Greige being one of my most favorite! Look forward to it everyday. Thanks
Maureen
I find most of my inspiration from blogs and blogs are to blame for me never being able to make up my mind! I love pinterest but I never have much time for it after blogging.

Christina I find inspiration everywhere. Design, Fashion, nature, blogs and more blogs.
I have stayed away from Pinterest simply because I know myself...and I cannot spend any more time on the computer than I do!

I find inspiration from a variety of places...sometimes a look at the blue sky or the sun shimmering across a body of water. I like Pinterest, Google Images and of course the blogs I frequent. I have also viewed some lovely images from people who own shops that are on Facebook. All in all, if you open your eyes and look around you can find inspiration just about anywhere.
The only thing I use pinterest for is to pin images that I like from blogs.
Seeing pretty images is fun, but I also enjoy the "relationship" of blogs too...the getting to know the writer as you follow their posts.
Blogs for me. I think your picture is Corey Amaro's living room, her blog is Tongue in Cheek or willows95988.blogspot. she has an AMAZING blog!!! definitely worth the visit.
Don't plan to "do" pinterest. I love the design blogs because you get to know the people behind the lovely photos. And, Houzz is a great place to get inspiration. I love that you can research products, too. Wish I'd realized that before I spent hours and days looking for the perfect wall sconces all over the Internet and in dozens of retail locations.
Blogs for me
Seems everyone is on the same wave length with the responses.
Creative spirits find, see, feel and love inspiration that is all around them. Blogs are more than pretty images, they are about making connections and friends.....and they are definitely more personable, thoughtful and interesting than Pinterest.
(Though, mine has taken a back seat) I continue to enjoy the likes of your fabulous blog among others to help me be inspired to step up my game. :)
Blogs are my time trap of choice.
I participate in both worlds. Pinterest appeals to the hoarder in me but at the end of the day, it's just a quick fix. Blogs enable the reader to get to know the person behind the blog and develop a kind of relationship with him/her. I always get a little tweak of delight when I see Greige in my inbox. Debra
Blogs are very inspiring but also , travelling, magazines ...and Pinterest is also a new source of inspiration, but PInterest exists thanks to blogs, magazines, photographers ...
The Photos comes from Corey Amaro's blog, Tongue in cheek
