Tufted sofa love...

So I am completely smitten with the tufted vintage style sofa, chesterfield or not I am loving the fun styles out there.  I have a simple high back sofa in my living room from Cisco brothers that has served me well for years- I think 7 or 8 years to be exact and it is still in great shape.  However, you know as well as anybody that girls like me like to day dream.  When I day dream it is about furniture and travel typically.  (the photo below makes me weak!)  So anyway long story short, or vice versa now, I was not shopping for a sofa but you know how things happen when you least expect it, I found a beauty that I could not resist!

This one is so cute with the contrast of the nail heads...

This little beauty looks vintage but it is not..

Love the yellow but I know it is not for me...

So here she is my new to me vintage sofa... LOVE LOVE LOVE   the only question now is which fabric and which color??

Do I go with linen in a natural tone, linen in a charcoal grey, velvet in a light grey??  Oh the delimas I get myself into!

What do you think?  I am over the moon- it was the perfect find for a ridiculously low  price (I am not sure I should say).  I will say that flea market shopping is some of the best shopping EVER!

i'd say a soft grey linen or velvet would be the cosiest, that's a sofa to snuggle on. x

I'm right there with ya...linen or velvet, natural or grey??? Maybe do the front in grey velvet and the back in natural linen. Good luck.

AMAZING shape on that sofa - better than any of the inspirations I've seen. I vote mohair velvet in a warm, brown based gray then strip the legs like the one without tufting. Good thing the price was right because you know you'll make up for it with the upholstery labor!! Totally worth it. Hurry and get it done!

Grey velvet, preferably very expensive grey velvet! You can get mohair velvet online for slightly less astronomical prices than normal...

Great sofa. I think anything linen would look lovely on it and I'm sure you'll select the perfect color. Selecting the right color has always been the hardest thing for me.

Wow... it is so gorgeous! So I love absolutely anything grey, black, white etc. but I must say that this style would look absolutely amazing in a pale pink velvet ( I love that victorian style) I can't wait to see what you do with it! p.s. are you doing it yourself?

I love the idea of doing it in a soft linen! While a velvet would be beautiful, it can be so traditional. Would love the classic, clean linen in a beautiful natural texture.

Oh my goodness...you are so lucky to have found that sofa! And at a great price you say? Is that true? To find something so lovely is wonderful, but at a great price, well that's just divine. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Charcoal gray linen first choice, natural linen second choice. I, too, love tufted pieces. Great find.

Great find! I would go with charcoal grey linen.

I have a vintage tufted sofa that my mother gave me and recovered in a pale grey velvet. Our family room furniture is all linen slipcovers, so I was happy to go with something a tad more formal for this one. Plus I think the velvet shine here and there really highlights the contours of the sofa. That said, you can't go wrong with linen either! Congrats on your new addition :)

Gorgeous tufted samples—so so lovely! I have always wanted one in a rich grey velvet—though the lavender is fabulous! x
