Off the subject: Neon Sign Museum

We visited Las Vegas over the weekend and found ourselves less than excited over most of the trip..  We live pretty close so we have been many times, but this was the first time with our kids.  When we were leaving the Cashman Center I noticed something right next door, the Neon Museum or the Neon Boneyard.  I had heard of it and seen a few photos here and there, but had no idea where it was or that you can visit it.  I was a little bummed to find out that you need to make reservations pretty far in advance, but I will know for next time, just a little something fun to do in Vegas aside from shopping.  I love vintage and vintage signs and lettering are some of my favorite finds so this is perfect!  Don't you think?

I've never been to Las Vegas, and have never had a particular yearning to go, but as I get older, there's a part of me that thinks I ought to experience it at least once? I know of the Neon museum though. During my years as a Shoot Bookings Editor on a British fashion magazine, I organised many a fashion shoot there. We Brits have a mystical fascination for Las Vegas and large outsized neon lights. It's unlike anything we have over here - very exotic in it's way!

I don't particularly like the Vegas scene but it is good fun for a girls weekend of shopping (the shoe section of Barney's is to die for and open until 11pm), diner, spa, a little room service and pool time.

I love fonts and add neon and vintage and it would be fun...just not in the full heat of the day!

Oh this is my idea of heaven. I have always loved the aesthetic of the old fashioned neon signs and all stacked together what a dream. I love your photos. Carla

Now that is cool. I'd like to go see that. I've been to Vegas twice (all the way from blighty) once for a conference where I was a speaker (yikes) and once on our way back from an epic road trip through california, arizona and Utah. I was kinda overwhelmed after spending weeks dusty and hiking to be in such a bling-y place. Fantastic sushi though and plenty of shopping (and LIIT). I'd definitely have wanted to visit this great boneyard if I'd known about it
