Oh my...

Oh my... this space makes everything better..  I am going to vent a little... so please forgive me..

Please please everyone remember that every site and every blog has a person behind it or people.  Real people!  People who are hurt by anything rude or inappropriate that you send around about them. Anywhere.  Especially via email, these come right to the inbox- right here on my computer {hello}!  If you are going to take the time to write something and hit the send or post button you should at the very least sign it and realize that I will have a way to contact you maybe even with your very own email address.  So once again if you don't have anything nice to say please do not say anything at all, because to me and so many of us this is all very personal!  Be nice, there is no reason not to!

Okay now- is this room not totally amazing?  I love the color change on the walls I love the soft lines of the linen on the sofa and the combination of textures and pattern in the pillows.  This makes me happy!

HI Christina

SO sorry to hear you've been picked on! Just carry on the great work you do here, and pay no attention.
Also love this room; pink an comforting without being too over feminine.

Ah, now this is a happy inducing room if ever there was one!
And as for anonymous mean commenters--the election is over people! Haven't we had enough nastiness for four years? Leave lovely Christina alone!!

Bon Weekend,

I'm so sorry that has happened. If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.

it's a great room! and i hate the anonymity of the internet. it allows people to say things they would never say to someone's face. everyone should read "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" by Robert Fulghum!

Great message!
I often wonder when I read comments on the net if the person was standing face-to-face would they say these things. Angry fingers flying on a keyboard seem to be easy for many.

Have a happy weekend....

ugh. wish I could use my real ID, but blogger won't let me use my WP, so-called "open ID" (its a known bug) and there's no place on the form to fill in my url/name. Anyway, never mind those idiots, Christina. People who make those kinds of comments are not happy people and when they say hurtful things like that, its always about how they feel about themselves, not you. You're brilliant, have exquisite taste and have been an endless source of inspiration to me for many months now. my best, Laurel

Such a soft and cozy feel to the space and I too like the wall color!

I just visited your on line store! I'm looking forward to doing a little shopping and I'm signing up for the newsletter.

So sorry to hear about the negative email.. :( Lots of angry people in this world I guess?

Enjoy your weekend!

Dear Christina,

You are a wonder! An esteemed blogger and business woman. None of us need any grief or unkind words; especially anonymous. It is just wrong!
Love and hugs,

OK...this is the color of my living room/music room and I am convinced more than ever what a great choice (brave choice) I made. I LOVE THIS!

I love the mixture of all the pillows!

Tricia Rose said...

Wondering if I could dye my white linen slipcovers this colour (or mauve) - so worried I'd end up with lolly-pink instead this soft and subtle beauty!

As for trolls: let them roll off your back like a duck.

Christina,
It'll always happen, the inappropriate comments, the void they try to fill by upsetting others. Agree with alexkeller's comment re: learning about life via Kindergarten rules.
Oh, I'd be the worst "Survivor" player and kicked off immediately!
Have a beautiful weekend, as you're a daily "happy place" for me!

The wonderful feature of the internet is that there is something for everyone – the horrible feature of the internet is that it can become the stomping ground for the uncivilized. Despite the fact that it is actually easier to just move along to another site when we are not drawn-into the message a site brings to its viewing audience, there will always be a small and rather pathetic portion of the population who finds satisfaction in being hurtful. My sweet mother, a lady who was raised in the southern U.S. and is the personification of civility, explains it like this – ‘Sometimes we are reminded of our manners from those who have none.’ In this instance, you clearly have been reminded of the lessons you received as child and having to brush up against the likes of the uncivilized serves as a reminder that you were raised well. You already know that you have a very strong following of devotees, and now you know that 99.9% of us were also raised well. Our task then is to brush off the poor behavior of the remaining .1% and carry on with our lives.

Wishing you a glorious week end – a devotee from the 99.9%

Thank you to everyone for your sweet words of support! I know that there are always a few grumps out there but there are so many wonderful people too.

Thank you again! xo

Oh my...that is the best way to describe this room. It's truly scrumptious...the color on the walls, the pillows, the letter "S and the paintings, all of the amazing details. It's just so warm.

I am terribly sorry to hear that people have actually emailed you with hurtful words. It's very personal, I agree...so sorry.

Christiana,

I am so sorry that you've had a bad experience. I often wonder why people leave such rude comments. I've had that happen to me before and it is hurtful and insulting. I sent an e-mail back to the person telling her that I was not happy with her comment. I couldn't find a way to ban her from visiting so I just deleted her comments every time she left one.

Unfortunately, some people thrive on negativity. :)♥♥

Christina,

People who need to attack are unhappy and have issues. Feel sorry for them instead. And don't let them turn you into a person you don't want to be!

I think you are one of the best in blog land!

Some people have obviously empty shallow lives and then there are those of us who don't. I wouldn't give them one ounce of energy although I was sad that this has caused you a second thought - Now smile ;)

Greetings from New Zealand!
I read your blog every day but usually do not leave any feedback as I imagine you get plenty of words from others.

I am saying hello today as I want to endorse your words and also say, keep up the great work...ignore the grumps and keep smiling.

I also love this room...I would not have thought of pink for myself, but having said that, this is such a beautiful dusky pink, that I could fall in love with it!

Go well

grrrr I get so upset by the meanies and it does come as little surprise that they almost always sign "anonymous".
I personally Think you are wonderful. I even reviewed your book on my blog the other day! I adore it. I am so inspired!

And I love that there is an "S" in the picture too ;-)))

I'm so sorry that you were hurt by someone's rudeness (ugh hello, bitterness called - they want you back!). I often think about that as my business and blog continue to grow or when I read the MEANEST things in other big blogger's comment sections. You just have to remind yourself that here you are, trying to contribute something positive to the universe, shine some light, be inspiring, and these mean, insecure, unhappy people are very intimidated by that. They want to be happy too but can't seem to conquer their inner demons. No one can touch you when you lead an authentic life predicated on goodness (and if you are a spiritual person, a life lead by God). Remind yourself of your many blessings and don't let anyone "dull your sparkle" (remember that pin? Loved it).

Have a wonderful weekend!!! The world is full of good people, don't let those bad eggs slow you down.

Christina,
There has been a large frame graphic on my wall for 3 years and while it's everywhere now, I am reminded of Keep Calm and Carry On. Its so disappointing when people chose to behave uncivilized ...every person has their own personal battle they are carrying in life, my approach is how do we lend a hand to each other to help our fellow out when needed rather than strike them down. Unacceptable. I hope you can let it go, don't swell on the comments try to bask in the love of your readers ;-) who appreciate what you provided!
Be well, girl.

You are so good at what you do! Please don't let anyone get you down...I know it's easier said than done at times. I have struggled with this as well recently. Best of luck to you, and keep on showing the world what you can do!

Who in the world would say anything unkind about this beautiful blog???

I have never commented on a blog before, but I just had to weigh in and tell you that this is my favorite blog. I love the beauty and quality of the photographs you share. Please let whatever was said roll right off your back, because you are lovely, just as you are.

I am stumped as to what anyone would find to be negative about with your site; unless it's pure jealously and/or competition!

Enjoy yourself. You're doing it beautifully!
